Interesting Chairs

This chair has caught my attention because of its unique shape. This chair would be a perfect chair to sit on because of its ergonomic shape and it has cushions for comfort. It would look good in the living room or in a bedroom because it would stand out due of its design.

This chair has also caught my attention because it has an ergonomic shape. It has a white interior and has a wooden exterior for its design. This design makes it stand out wherever you place it and it comes with a nice matching footrest for relaxing and comfort.

Treehouse Seminar

I found it interesting and i have learnt many things from it. It was interesting how Pete turned the treehouse, by cutting it in half and adjusting it slightly, into a unique onion shaped structure. It was also interesting how he turned a scribble into a building. I have learnt that concepts for buildings could start from the scribbles we draw. The treehouse was unique because it harmonizes with the trees around it and it is icolated from cities and houses. It has strength so it can stay off the ground and carry at least 20 people. It should also be very durable for it to endure the wind and rain it encounters.

What Makes a Successful/Good Design?

A good design is when the product fulfills the specifications of the brief and does what it designed to do. It should also be built with the right materials and be very efficient. But the design should also satisfy the designer and the user to become a successful design.

Island in the Sky

I think this is going to be an awesome experience and I would learn alot of things from this project. I think it would be challenging in some parts, like finding out how to power the building, how people are going to get there, etc. But overall I think it is going to be a very interesting project to do.

Green Architecture

ACROS Fukuoka, is a building in Fukuoka City, Japan that has one side of it's wall covered with palnts.

•The plants make the building unique.
•It would make a very good tourist attraction.
•How do they manage all the plants?
•What are the disadvantages of having this?
•Should other buildings start doing this too?
•It looks like it is preventing sunlight to enter the building.
•The plants look like it can spread, would it cover the whole building?
•Would it affect how people worked in the building?
•It has an amazing design on how the plants are planted.

Colour Wheel

First Circle - Primary Colours
Second Circle - Secondary Colours
Third Circle - Tertiary Colours

Colours

Colours has been around fo years. It was different back in the day because only wealthy people could only have coloured clothing, while others were forced to wear brown coloured clothing because making colour was very hard and expensive. Colour has affected how people say things, like "I'm feeling blue" and "That was red hot". Colour has also affected what people think about products. When we see white, we think it's cheap, but when we see colourd things, we think it's expensive.

Homework 11:B

Albrecht Durer was a German painter, printmaker, mathematician, engraver and theorist. His perspective machine was basically a thin veil or a window that was attached to a table. it was set infront of an object that he wished to draw and he would make an outline of the object on the window or glass. He had a big influence on artists, especially in printmaking. His portraits continued to have a strong influence up to the present.

- Albrecht Dürer

- Portrait of Oswolt Krel

- One of his engravings

- A design of his machine

Homework 9:B

I have learnt how to shade and render a drawing and I have learnt about positive and negative spaces. I have also learnt about how we develop skills as we grow and I have also been proud of my drawings because I have improved since the start of the course.

Homework - Designers and Outcomes

I found David Trubridge's Coral and Floral interesting because it looks like a ball of energy and it is very eye catching. David Trubridge graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in naval architecture but he shifted to furniture making. His work was produced in New Zealand only using natural materials.

Homework - Designers and Outcomes

I have found Giles Miller's Hirsutio Vase very interesting because it looked like it was shredded and twisted back together to make the shape. Guiles Miller was born in 1983 and he studied Furniture Design at Loughborough University, UK.
